My grandfather came to me wanting some new branding for his shop. A frequent stop for most travelers while riding along Route 66. On his busiest summer days, close to a hundred people will stop in a day. My grandpa wanted something quick and easy to give the drivers to help spread the word of his shop since he has people from all over the globe stopping by. I chose to create a stamp containing an illustration of the shop paired with his slogan and the location.

Red Carpet Corridor is one of the main highlights of summer in my hometown, Gardner. My grandfather had asked me to create a postcard that would be handed out at the festival for people in town and those traveling along Route 66.

I’ve always had an interest in embroidery but never had the time or will power to sit down, pull up the Youtube videos, and actually figure out how to do it. Over the pandemic, I tried to keep myself busy by picking up some new hobbies. I finally buckled down and taught myself how to create embroidery pieces. Homer fading into the bushes served as a great first try at embroidery and became a birthday gift for my youngest brother.

After graduation, I found myself constantly doodling my little “monsters”. One of my dreams in life is to write and illustrate a children’s book and to have it full of cute woodland creatures like these. These were some of the first drawings I had created using procreate.
